Grassroots Art Center
Exhibits over 20 examples of unique self-taught, outsider art environments from across the state of Kansas. Visitors enjoy the creativity of primarily retired individuals working with recycled materials such as metal, wood, pull-tabs, limestone, cement, computer motherboards, and even chewing gum. The Art Center has also developed the Great Post Rock Limestone Courtyard Exhibt. This outdoor area emphasizes the architectural, historical, and cultural value of post rock limestone and incorporates at one place a concise and concentrated series of examples of construction and design detail, showing the many uses of the stone from the most utilitarian to the ornate and whimsical.
