Lodging & Dining

Blue Hills Lodge

The Blue Hills Lodge is a quiet, quaint, secluded retreat where you can enjoy the wonderful hospitality of the Hake family, and still be certain of that wonderful upland gamebird hunting experience provided by Ringneck Ranch. The lodge was opened in 1999 and is located on 200 scenic acres, five miles east of Ringneck Ranch, in the Blue Hills, of course!

The lodge comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests. Step inside and you'll enjoy a redwood living room with a massive brick fireplace. Downstairs is a pool table, card table, bar area, satellite television and plenty of room to relax—all while enjoying a heated floor that will fo' sure warm the coldest feet on a chilly fall evening...

The setting is very secluded and the view of the Blue Hills across the big bass pond is beautiful. Your thoughts may turn to fishing after looking at the wonderfully mounted 8 lb. 10 oz. Bass hanging in the living room or you may want to "head for the hills"...literally.

Just ask and we'll jump into our vintage 1957 International pickup for a drive up to one of the best views in all of north central Kansas. While viewing unbelievable stars and listening to howling coyotes in the background, the old west comes to mind.

All of this, of course, is wrapped around a day that starts with a wonderful breakfast of homemade biscuits and gravy, our own special recipe, "Tipton" sausage, eggs, juices, and steaming hot coffee. You'll have moment or two to relax before the real fun starts and the guides from Ringneck Ranch arrive to take you and your guests on the morning hunt.

Take a break for lunch and find that Lisa and her sisters have prepared a lunch of homemade soup, breads, rolls, and desserts, all made fresh for each meal. Return from your afternoon hunt to find a roaring campfire, courtesy of Pappy! Check out the kitchen where preparations will be underway for a supper of fist-thick, marinated, pork loin, or perhaps some of that famous Kansas beef! Hungry yet?

Meals are served family style with hearty portions and fresh from the oven homemade breads & pies. The Hakes at Blue Hills Lodge are excited and looking forward to their 9th year of successful partnership with the Houghtons at Ringneck Ranch...

Stop by Blue Hills Lodge while you are at the ranch for a quick tour, a cup of coffee, and say "Hello!" to Lisa, Clarence (Pappy), Marilyn (Mert), and the rest of the family!
