Hunt Information:
2008 Habitat Development
Keith & Big Wayne have been continuing the new habitat development projects that were initiated last year. We are establishing new quail buffer and filter strip CRP along with feed and cover plantings.
Extensive food cover plot plantings have been cultivated on the 6,000+ acres that are regularly utilized for our upland gamebird hunting. Added to the previously under-utilized Watson valley hunting area is a wonderful 1-1/2 mile creek drainage where we are establishing CRP filter strips in conjunction with the FSA programs. Also, we are undertaking a significant program to embellish habitat development at the Blue Hills Lodge area. Our guests have become comfortable in our established areas, but we are delighted to be able to provide some new hunting adventures!
Details About Your Hunt

We
offer as a complete package, traditional field hunts
of upland game bird species native to North Central
Kansas. Our specialty is hunting the Ringneck Pheasant
with a six bird per day limit. Extended pheasant limits
can also be arranged. Bobwhite Quail and Greater Prairie
Chicken can also be hunted. You need only furnish your shotgun and outdoor
clothing as we provide ranch house accommodations, all
meals, and field transportation. Also provided are local
dog handlers who act as guides to insure that you will
see adequate birds to fill your limit. Our personal
service and exceptional hospitality provide a
memorable outdoor experience.
October
through March
The
Carr Creek Valley is the home of Houghton Farms and
Ringneck Ranch. The unique "Post Rock Country" is the setting for experienced local guides with trained
dogs to lead hunters through a variety of cover where
five generations of the Houghton family have hunted
since homesteading here in 1872.
North
Central Kansas offers exceptional upland game bird hunting
of several species, particularly the wily Ringneck Pheasant.
Ringneck
Ranch is a family-run business established in 1983,
operated by Keith Houghton, a professional airline pilot,
his wife Debra, a former flight attendant, and a dedicated
local staff of fifty. Great hunting, very nice accommodations,
outstanding home cooked family-style meals, personal

a memorable outdoor experience.
